With its flexible DSP Core System, powerful QuickTweak tools, and time-tested processing algorithms; the Omnia VOLT has become an indispensable tool for many broadcasters around the world. Customers who choose VOLT are getting more sonic performance and processing power in one rack unit than other processors can give you in three.
The team at Omnia has been working to provide even more value to VOLT users with version 1.3 software for the FM DSP module, which is available for download on the VOLT Product Page. The software download link is located on the right side of the page, along with a link to updated release notes.
What’s New In 1.3?
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is an application–layer protocol defined by the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) in RFC1157 for exchanging management information between network devices. It is a part of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP⁄IP) protocol suite. Because it has become more important to broadcast customers, Omnia and the Telos Alliance are actively developing SNMP capabilities for new products and adding it to some existing ones.
Further details on the available types of SNMP functions are included in the release notes. Again, the current release is exclusively for the FM variant of the VOLT at this time. The other three VOLT DSP Core Firmware modules will soon have SNMP implemented as well; as they become available, further notifications will be distributed.
