The Dante AVIO adapters from Audinate are a cost effective way to inject and pull baseband audio into your Livewire network as AES67 compliant flows. The AVIO adapters are PoE devices. With no external power sourcing available beyond the PoE they do represent a single-point-of-failure. However, for edge devices on your network and getting “that one extra device” into your Livewire or AES67 facility, they can potentially be a great option. In this walkthrough, we show how to configure an AVIO Input and AVIO Output dongle to work with an AXIA xNODE. The xNODE will be configured to provide Grand Master Clock to the Dante adapters, as well as be the Livewire Primary Master. With the xNODE providing translation, these adapters can be utilized with ANY AXIA console, provided you have spare Source/Destination slots (either physical or virtual) on an xNODE connected to your Livewire network.
