Quasar v3.0 now available

As promised, Quasar update v3.0 is here for the Holidays and to bring in the New Year.

The v3.0 surface and engine software update introduces several new features, feature enhancements, and improvements to AES67 functionality. It can be broadly divided into two categories: 

• Improved AES67 functionality
• Additional processing and routing features 

AES67 Improvements

v3.0 brings full AES67 compliance to all engine inputs and outputs, including monitoring I/Os, and adds PTP synchronization. 

Processing and Routing Features

v3.0 adds the following features: 

• DSP-based processing – including filters, dynamics processing, and True Peak limiting – on Program 1-4, Record, and Phone busses
• A dedicated low-latency peak limiter on every input channel
• Variable position Insert Sends from every input channel, including:
  • Pre-fader/pre-processing for external effects and processing
  • Pre-fader/post-processing
  • Post-fader for direct output feeds to codecs and to create custom mix-minuses
• Variable position Insert Returns to every input channel 
• The addition of phase and pan controls to each of the five inputs on each VMIX instance
• A new “VMIX Controller” mode for MF1-ACC and MPC-ACC Accessory Modules
• New soft Call Controller switchable from 8-lines to 12-lines
• Support for backup control surfaces in Quasar Engine
